HBO’s third season of White Lotus has once again left global audiences with longing for more hedonism and recklessness from the TV series deranged protagonists.
Without revealing any spoilers from this week, or last week, it goes without saying, that we all deserved to see what happened on that Rockwell and Goggins bender.
Two obviously troubled middle-aged American men, with endless cash at their disposal, both experiencing unique major personal developments, in the middle of Bangkok, with all the hook ups and connections that anyone would ever need if they wanted to really let the dogs out.
However, with the Thailand government offering HBO very favourable tax exemptions to promote their beautiful country, it was probably not a good idea to dedicate 60 minutes to this kind of Western decadence and borderline sex tourism. Not when the country is already being painted as sinister south-east Asian purgatory that harbours some of the most twisted Americans, Brits and Australians to ever get a passport.
Either way, it would have been very enjoyable viewing to see these blokes drink and smoke themselves into oblivion while surrounded by beautiful women and ladyboys.
Who knows, maybe one of them will get a spin off in season four.
Maybe in another depraved but beautiful sex capital like Berlin? Amsterdam? Sydney?
