Polls are showing that the Liberal Party may lose up to six of their blue-ribbon seats to the ‘teal independents’ this election, as some of their safest electorates revolt against what they believe to be a corrupt and financially reckless Morrison government.

As the talent continues to thin out at the top of the Coalition government due to allegations of sex crimes and sudden resignations, it seems that the next generation of promising Liberals are also at risk of working in the private sector in a few months time.

In Melbourne, the Liberal Party’s propaganda arm at the Murdoch-owned Herald Sun appears to be increasingly concerned that the Independents may be carrying home the scalps of Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Tim ‘Poor people should use their super to pay rent’ Wilson MP.

This comes as new data from a poll reluctantly commissioned by the Murdoch papers shows Frydenberg trailing his independent opponent Professor Monique Ryan 53-47 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.

Just further east, independent Zoe Daniel leads the incumbent Liberal Tim Wilson MP 52-48 in what could would have considered one of the safest blue-ribbon seats in Victoria – before Scott Morrison became leader.

While this rise of the independents is playing out in leafy Liberal suburbs right across the country, there are predictions that Melbourne will host the biggest bloodbath, as voters make it clear that they remember being stuck in lockdown for 300 days while their own MPs fired shots at the exhausted Victorian Premier from the wine bars of Canberra.

This darkhorse of teal independents is a particularly tricky phenomena for both NewsCorp and the Liberals to navigate, as they learn that moderate Liberal voters stopped reading the Herald Sun around the time they ran a front page column defending the disgraced Cardinal Pell against alleged child sex crimes.

However, there is still hope from the neckless Murdoch heavies that enough graphic designers and surgeons from Kooyong and Goldstein are consuming enough of their propaganda to swing the result back to their beloved Morrison Government.

It for this reason, NewsCorp journalists have been instructed to not refer to the candidates as anything but ‘the so-called independents’ – and have been calling around their workplaces (children’s hospitals) to construct dirt files that paint them as anti-semitic radical greenies.

Unfortunately, despite the daily front page hit-pieces, the data continues to show that the now most marginal seats held by the Liberal-National-Murdoch Coalition government will be decided by voters that aren’t t too interested in the opinions of Andrew Bolt or Peta Credlin.
