The 2025 Federal Election campaign is finally underway, as the Prime Minister announces that he’s locked in May 3 as the official date that Australians will head to the ballot.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton made his campaign pitch to Australians during his Federal Budget Reply last night, and appears to be making this yet another ‘Crime Election’.

Last night’s speech in Parliament even went as far as mentioning someone being robbed with a machete in some suburb in Melbourne.

Either way, this will be an election like no other, as the major parties fight for their own survival against a tidal waves of minors and Independents.

After decades of gradually becoming more and more of a Coalition stronghold, Queensland is no longer the deciding swing state.

And with WA making it clear that they are fully committed to Labor – this election will be fought in the suburbs of Sydney.

This poses a challenge for Peter Dutton – as Queenslanders traditionally need A LOT of momentum to win over voters in New South Wales and Victoria.

While Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his Labor government campaign on childcare and medicare, it seems Dutton is going to be zoning in on the mindless criminals that are ruining everything for Melbourne. They may or may not be African.

Handing down the Coalition’s Budget reply on Thursday night, the Opposition Leader claimed the escalation of crime was a result of the Voice referendum ‘dividing our country’, and somehow linked it to the increase in religious tensions in our community – without officially mentioning that caravan hoax that he fell for.

‘In my travels across the country, my constituents tell me they’ve never been more worried about crime and the community,’ he said.

Melbourne residents are once again preparing to be too scared to go to restuarants, like they were in 2016 when Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said that African teenagers player basketball at the public courts near the housing commission blocks were scaring Victorians right down to their bones.
