Just when you thought that the film template of a baby boomer with a British accent getting caught up in a international criminal conspiracy might be a bit tired, the entire concept has been brought back to life, but this time, on a train!

Starring Liam Neeson in the same role he has become famous for in other movies, The Commuter is set during an every day train commute through a vaguely American city – before the trouble starts.

Neeson’s character receives a seemingly innocuous phone call, which results in a conversation with a stranger who thrusts him into a bizarre social experiment: He is told to find out which of the commuters on the train “do not belong” before the train reaches its final destination. Neeson’s character is soon made aware that he is in the middle of a much more sinister criminal operation, and races against time to stop the mysterious antagonists out of a sense of obligation to the rest of the passengers.

“It’s a film about an ordinary man who ends up in a bit of trouble with criminals who don’t expect him to be as gifted at fighting crime as he is” says Neeson

“It’s a film about a man with avery particular set of skills; skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people like you. If you let his daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. He will not look for you, He will not pursue you. But if you don’t, He will look for you, he will find you, and he will kill you.”
