A prominent conservative Liberal politician who went from being a highway cop busting teenagers for having funny smelling cars, before spending a couple years working for his dad’s company, before entering politics, somehow owns eight properties.
It has been reported that Peter Dutton MP is fucking loaded somehow, and maybe it’s just because he comes from a really rich family, like every other unaccomplished public servant in the Coalition that thinks they worked hard for everything they have.
As of December 2016, Mr Dutton and his wife had five places for rent, including a $2.3-million, four-bedder on Queensland’s Palm Beach, known as “Millionaire’s Row” – where he tried to relocate to as the local member after it looked like he might lose his current seat under Gillard.
This on top of a couple other properties in the Sunshine State and another in Canberra. Their home is on a two-hectare block at Camp Mountain, north-west of Brisbane, in the senior conservative figure’s electorate.
The Member For Dickson in Brisbane’s North Side appears to be just another, if not bigger, trust fund baby than his far-right Liberal predecessor Tony Abbott – an apparent prerequisite for Federal Politicians that think seeking asylum is not a human right and that burning coal makes the environment stronger.
This comes after it was found that Dutton may was not eligible to replace Malcolm Turnbull as Prime Minister, in accordance with Section 44(v) says that any person who “has any direct or indirect pecuniary interest in any agreement with the Public Service of the Commonwealth” is disqualified from sitting as a member of parliament.
Mr Dutton, as recorded in the parliamentary register of interests, is the beneficiary of a discretionary family trust. This trust, through its trustee, apparently owns two childcare centres in Queensland.
Earlier last month it was also revealed that Dutton has failed to declare a million-dollar property his family owns in Townsville, in a blunder his office is blaming on simple human error.
The breach of the rules is regarded as a potential “serious contempt” of Parliament.
