Labor frontbencher Tanya Plibersek has clashed with embattled Liberal MP Craig Kelly ain the halls of the Press Gallery today, accusing him of spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories.
The incident follows the Prime Minister’s Office confirming that Morrison had privately called Mr Kelly before question time and urged him to stop being such a fucking moron, in a political climate where insuring the safety of a vaccine is the absolute priority.
Mr Kelly, who prior to being handed the safe Liberal seat south of Cronulla had only worked as a tighthead prop for Sutherland rugby club – before driving his family’s furniture business into the ground with his decision to important cheap Chinese products – insists Australian doctors are intentionally not considering potential cures for the virus.
Kelly has spent the week on a media blitz, and has grown a considerable online following since appearing on the deranged celebrity chef-turned-conspiracist Pete Evans’ podcast to discuss quack medical advice that undermines public health orders.
Plibersek refused to take a backward step after she ran into Mr Kelly during his latest television appearance on Channel Nine this morning, and accused him of putting lives at risk with his nonsense.
Craig Kelly then launched into a defensive spray of finger pointing and a lot of chat about ‘doing your own research’.
The Member For Hughes then descended into full blown conspiracy rhetoric, urging ‘the sheep’ Plibersek to question everything she has been conditioned into thinking by ‘the mainstream media’.
“Haha. Yeah… A vaccine… That’ll work” sniggered Kelly.
“Let me guess. You think that 747s can melt steel beams upon impact?”
Plibersek appeared speechless as Kelly stepped off the deep end.
“Haha. Oh yeah, and Harold Holt just ‘disappeared’ ??” he said, using his fingers as inverted commas.
“Do yourself a favour sweetie… Maybe look a bit deeper into this”
“I suggest you google the sightings of Chinese submarines in Portsea in 1967”
