Phones have been running hot across hair salons in the Diamantina this week, as local netball Mums scramble to book in a new hair appointment.

The mad rush comes after the Queen of Chardonnay Pop, P!nk, has announced that she will be returning to Australian shores in early 2024 with her much anticipated “Summer Carnival” tour.

Playing a host of arena shows in major capital cities and Newcastle, tickets have been so sought after that promoters they’ve been forced to announce a run of second shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Loved by kaftan enthusiasts and those that enjoy the sweet and portable taste of a wine in a can, the arrival of P!nk has reportedly sparked a wave of cut and colour bookings at hair studios across Betoota.

Speaking to Julie Moore-Hart, the owner of boutique salon ‘Shear Elegance’, it’s believed the recent revival of P!nk on local radio has inspired many to get themselves an early 2000s era funky fauxhawk, in a bright shade of neon pink.

“Betoota Rock FM has been playing her all week and flogging a bunch of free tickets, we’ve had it on blast here at the salon,” Julie told The Advocate as she applied a fresh head of foils into the hair of a local Kia Sorento owner.

“I’m doing a ‘Raise Your Glass’ special, a free glass of chardy with any cut and colour, my regulars have been loving it!”

Asked if she herself was able to secure tickets to a show, Julie admitted there was no way she was missing out on the chance to watch P!nk blast some classic Hens night hits whilst a hot ripped gymnast swings across a footy stadium on a trapeze.

“Tickets? Love I’m doing the Brisbane show and backing it up straight after with the show on the Goldy.”

“I’ve had to stockpile some pink hair dye for myself so I can get the apprentice to give me a fresh galah too, let’s get the party started!”
