The old guard may be fading away in worksites across Australia as local bricklayer Darren Roon (24) outed himself as a feminist ally by catcalling a man as well.

Catcalling, also known as ‘street harassment’ or ‘dickhead self-identifying system,’ is the act of making sounds or gestures, often of a sexual nature, towards a stranger in public.

Women are most often on the receiving end of catcalling and men make up close to 100% of catcallers with construction sites being one of the most stereotypical locations catcalling takes place.

It is for this reason that Roon has been doing his bit to level out the stats at his worksite by telling a few passing men he hopes the wind blows up their shirts as well.

“I tried explaining to some of the fellas that women don’t like being catcalled,” stated Roon as he enjoyed another lonely lunch break.

“Apparently all of them have spoken to women who like it, which is weird because I’ve never once seen them talk to a woman. Must have been a cam girl or something.”

When his initial ‘education and enlightenment’ plan failed, Roon decided to fight fire with fire and let the men on the streets know they are looking pretty red hot themselves.

“I started out by yelling ‘nice legs’ or blowing a little whistle but my heart wasn’t in it. Now I just straight up objectify any bloke who walks past, demanding he return with a deeper v-neck that shows off some more of those muscles.”

“They don’t like it any more than the women do but my colleagues fucking hate it! I think they’d enjoy it a lot more if they smiled from time to time.”
