Less than 2 months in to 2025, the world has been treated to the most shocking story of the year.
The English Cricket team have managed to lose a game of cricket without blaming anyone else, or claiming that they actually won.
The truly baffling story came over night, after the Poms lost by 8 runs to Afghanistan in the Champions Trophy.
Despite having their opposition at 4 for not many over a hundred, more than halfway through their innings, the English let Afghanistan get to over 300 before collapsing in the chase.
The loss means the English are bundled out of the Champions Trophy, which has devastated the entire sporting world.
Famous for being the most morally uprighteous, best-spirited and unluckiest team in world cricket, the English somehow managed to lose the game without lashing out at their opposition, the conditions, or the umpires.
The loss was also not followed by any claims about them actually being the winners, or feeling like they were better and actually won the game.
It’s not known if the loss is the start of a new chapter for the English, but it is confirmation that they won’t be getting their hands on any silverware again.
