The major weather event descending on Queensland and NSW has is taking it’s sweet god damn time, it can be confirmed today.
Initially predicted to make landfall on Thursday, Tropical Cyclone Alfred is still hanging around in the transit office off the coast of Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
It’s now expected to arrive on the solid ground either late tonight or early tomorrow morning, with the current warning zone extending from Double Island point to Grafton.
The continual delays from the frightening weather event have now led to confirmation that it is taking longer to arrive then an Australia Post package.
The “slow moving” category two system has also been described as behaving erratically, similar to the tracking of a parcel that was supposed to arrive days ago but hasn’t.
“At least we aren’t responsible for voting for the continual underfunding and kneecapping of Cyclone Alfred, like we are with Australia Post,” laughed one Gold Coast resident with a serious amount of cabin fever beginning to build up.
“Hopefully Cyclone Alfred just doesn’t even bother trying to deliver the package and takes it straight to a post office down the road.”
“And just leaves us a slip in the form of a few blown over branches.”
Cylcone Alfred was unavailable to comment.
More to come.
