Staunch anti-mask protester turned staunch anti-sausage sizzle protester, ‘Bunnings Karen’, has gone viral once again this morning after visiting her local Bunnings store.

This time, though, the oppressed living woman has set her sights on a far more sinister threat than wearing a facemask ever was, that of course being the unjust and criminal mark-up in the price of a Bunnings sausage in bread.

Footage has emerged showing the Melbourne woman sticking her camera phone right up into the eyeballs of one fragile and elderly sausage sizzle volunteer, Meredith Jenny (86), whilst ranting on about her refusal to buy a sausage in bread for the new price of $3.50.

The frightened volunteer, who gave up her time to help raise money for her local community group, tried to soothe the Karen’s temper by noting that the price change does not start until the 23rd July.

A date that, as she patiently tried to explain, is a future time ahead of today.

But the reasonable messaging was met with even wilder rantings, as Ms Nash started up at the other volunteers complaining about the price of drinks, which remain unchanged at $1.50.

Since the incident, a Bunnings spokesperson has confirmed that the price increase, the first in 15 years, will see snags in bread go up from $2.50 to $3.50 come July 23, as community groups struggle to cover the rising cost of ingredients.

Police have since been called to the scene, with a stand-off between police and the Bunning’s Karen now entering its fourth hour as this story continues to break.
