Mount Druitt rap group OneFour have today been praised for helping the greater Sydney community prepare themselves for the catastrophically poor standard of air bellowing across the city, as bushfires rage on the suburban outskirts.

Rescue services says that the Pasifika drill outfit have prevented what could have been a disastrous backlog of call-outs by encouraging Sydney residents to take face masks seriously.

“We really appreciate this new push for proper protective face-coverings as our city’s air quality dips to a rating below Beijing” says head of fire and rescue Dr. Phillipa ‘Flip’ Enpacks.

“If it wasn’t for OneFour encouraging Sydney’s residents to bally up, we would have a lot more people clogging our emergency services lines with asthma and other preventable respiratory problems”

“We find Gucci scarves and Army disposal balaclavas are the best form of respiratory face masks”

OneFour are from Mount Druitt in Sydney’s western suburbs and have become one of Australia’s biggest musical exports. Their videos and music have amassed more than 30 million online streams and have proven to sell out national tours in a matter of hours.

However, after months of being hounded by NSW Police and the AFP’s Raptor Squad, OneFour’s ‘In The Beginning’ nationwide tour was called off late week.

This comes as live venue owners were pressured by police to cancel their booking because they find Polynesian rap music scary and would prefer OneFour leave the graphic depictions of life in Mount Druitt to poverty porn TV programmes like Struggle Street.

The band’s music gives a grittily realistic depiction of life in one of Australia’s most impoverished postcode, Mount Druitt, 2770 – which according to politicians and NSW police – does not need to be shared with anyone outside of that region.

It’s for this reason that both the band and their followers were left surprise by such glowing praise from the fire and rescue services.

“It’s the least we can do” said one anonymous member of the group.

“No bally then eetswa throw on my shirt. Chuck it on and lets earch”
