As Hurricane Harvey makes it way through the east coast of Texas and into the heartland, local neo-nazis are being criticised for not defending their rich Southern Heritage by hiding away in emergency shelter while confederate statues endure the biggest natural disaster to ever hit the region.

The state of Texas has a population of 27 million people, more than the entire population of Australia, and online neo-nazi groups are disapointed in the local white nationalists for not rushing to protect their statues from liberal weather patterns.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said on Sunday that 50 counties had been declared state disaster areas, and not one held a rally to protect statues.

Local neo-Nazi, Wyatt Power, says that it’s a bit different comparing a bunch of hairy soap dodgers to a catastrophic weather pattern, and his love for Texas’ rich cultural history only runs so deep.

The stawm is too powerful. But this here isn’t about winning an argument”

“This here is ayy natural disastuurr – like a real physical threat. That there’s why ay’m nahwt out there”

More than 1000 people have already been rescued from Houston, a city of around 2 million and more than 80,000 people in the city have been left without power – it is expected that over six thousand statues commemorating the lives of men who kept and sold slaves will be destroyed in the next twenty hours – with no signs of white nationalists to protect them from the elements.
