A 29-year-old North Korean soldier revealed to The Advocate this morning that marching like they do in the Hermit Kingdom is quite exhausting.

Sur-Ri Park, of Pyongyang, said he can only keep it up for about half and hour, then it just becomes ‘too much’ for his legs to keep doing.

“It’s a hard as it looks,” he said.

“At the end of the day, I’m absolutely rooted. Like, can’t even get up off the couch rooted. But if we stop, they’ll pretty much drag us out of formation and shoot us in the street. So you have to keep going, even if you’re really tired.”

In an incident this time last year, a friend from Mr Park’s regiment had his head ‘turned inside out’ by a large calibre bullet because he stopped marching out of exhaustion.

Despite his protests, the man was executed on the footpath and his organs sold to wealthy Chinese businessmen.

Mr Park declined to comment on the 2016 incident, saying only that he shouldn’t have stopped marching.

“That’s basically why you don’t stop marching.”

More to come.
