Australian television’s night of nights, the TV Week Logie Awards, were full of surprises at the Gold Coast.

In a night that saw heaps of tried and true actors win awards for TV shows that aren’t even guaranteed for another season, on networks that aren’t guaranteed another financial year – it was good to see some of the industry at least looking like they were enjoying themselves.

Aside from the array of eye-popping outfits on the red carpet, the usual hiccups and distasteful jokes about sexual assault, and the surprising list of winners – event organisers were also perplexed as to why such an emphasis was placed on the bathroom cubicles.

“I only saw a couple wheelchairs in the entire event, but the disabled toilet was occupied all night” said one security guard.

“There must have been a couple bad prawns in the canapés because they were making a few runs to the loo”

It is believed none of the hundreds of male guests appeared interested in the urinals last night, opting instead to cram 2-4 people in the cubicles bathroom at one time.

“It was weird. But I don’t think it was a sexual thing” said one caterer.

“Mind you, they did come out looking nice and chirpy”
