In the midst of the on-going Zimbabwe Presidential crisis, a local Betoota man is offering to answer any Zimbabwe questions anyone might have, having once read David Pocock’s autobiography one time.

Zimbabwe is currently undergoing a tumultuous political coup, with current President Robert Mugabe refusing to step aside from the role despite pressure from his party and the nation’s military leadership.

Oliver Tweed, a self-described ‘citizen of the world’, believes that his significant experience with other cultures makes him the perfect conduit for explaining the nuances and intricacies of the political crisis in Zimbabwe – especially to uncultured swine like you.

“A lot of people don’t know this, but shit’s fucked”, he said in a statement. “This Mugabe fella is actually a bit of a tosser”

Tweed credits his in-depth knowledge of Zimbabwe’s socio-political climate to the hours he spent reading ‘Openside’, the auto-biography of Wallabies and Brumbies flanker, David Pocock.

“That book really opened my eyes. Before that, I had no idea what a Zimbabwe was – I thought it was a type of doner kebab”

“But reading Poey’s account of growing up there really drove home for me the state of the place. It’s quite delicate, and has been for years… And right now what we are seeing what looks like a changing of guard”

Tweed is now hoping to share some of his deep insights with those who are not quite as well-versed as he is.

“Look, if anyone has any questions, I’m more than happy to answer. As long as they are about what it’s like to be a 14 year old in Zimbabwe. Or rugby.”
