Katie Austin has just returned home from an amazing weekend at Splendour In The Grass. The 27-year-old says she has never felt as bad as she does at this very moment, sitting at her work desk.

“I am absolutely ruined, I didn’t eat the whole weekend,”

The iconic arts and music festival kicked off on Friday at North Byron Parklands in northern New South Wales and hosted more than 30,000 people over the three-day event.

To celebrate the 16th anniversary of ‘Splendour’, Australian favourites, The Meeting Tree made a much-anticipated farewell appearance, together with a massive line-up of more than 100 acts including Violent Soho, Remi and Sticky Fingers.

Katie is back at her job as a dental receptionist, she says she feels like smashing her head against her laptop screen, stating that it will be an entire week before she feels even remotely normal.

“I am so f**king scat” she says, after explaining her weekend artillery consisted of around “6 or 7 caps, about 10 pellets and a couple bags”

“They call it an arts and music festival… like there is some element of culture to it,” says a distressed Ms Austin, who arrived home from her road trip at 2 am last night, only to be back at work by 9.

“It’s more about the aggressive overconsumption of ecstasy and vodka, I couldn’t tell you the names of that many acts… It was more about our uncomfortable campsite”

“We really made the most of it, I just wish I had taken the whole week…”

“All of my clothes are ruined and I have no more endorphins in my brain… I think I’m getting a bit old for the festivals – at least I lost about 20 kegs, my stomach is still the size of a tic tac”
