SYDNEY FM radio station 101.7 WSFM has announced plans to release their 91-song archive as a collectors box set.

The classic rock station is famous for their “no repeat workday” – in which no song is repeated between 9am and 5pm.

However, every “no repeat workday” is a collection of the same songs, just in a different order.

In the week ending Sunday February 1, disc jockeys at the western Sydney broadcaster played “Blinded by the Light” by Manfred Mann 89 times over 7 days.

It’s a formula that’s worked for the flagship radio station, which has consistently out-rated the more “low-brow” radio stations such as FBi and Triple J.

One WFSM devotee from Richmond, in Sydney’s far-north-west, took the broadcasters Facebook page to praise their musical playlist.

“Are you guys reading my mind?” said Sharnee Pigeonfast, 24.

“How did you know that I wanted to listen to “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac six times before I got to work?”

“Keep up the good stuff!” she wrote.

The 3-CD box set will be on store shelves just in time for Easter.

  1. Why hello,

Really glad to see that WS is making an impression on what is seen as a young persons website.

Did I say that right, “website”?

To be honest I’m not entirely sure what a website actually is.

It’s so hard to keep up with you younger folk and your tinders and your dubsmashes or whatever you do for fun locked up in your darkened rooms hiding from any actual human contact.

What happened to entertainment that everybody can enjoy, like sending young people off to fight the Turk, or Burgo’s Catchphrase?

Anyway, the reason for this email that I’m dictating to my grandson Tarquin is that you have credited the photo of Jonesy & Amanda to some person called Getty?

Who is this Getty, and why do they only have a one word name like those whores Madonna, Cher and Manu?

As it so happens I’m the person who took this photo with my trusty box brownie and then took the film down to my local chemist for one hour processing that no longer actually exists.

I trust that this massive oversight will be corrected as soon as possible.

As a form of gratitude I’ve posted signed copies of our new 3 CD boxset and WSFM colostomy bags.

    Kind Regards, Michael Patrick
