The French Cricket Board [FCB] announced this morning that former Australian Test great Shane Watson has signed on to coach the national side.

Known for his flair and penchant for playing across his pads while simultaneously walking across his wicket, the chairman of the FCB said Watson was a ‘perfect fit’ for the side.

“Shane Watson is a natural French cricketer,” said FCB chairman Jaques Pisse-Poche.

“He hardly ever moves his feet, which French cricketers don’t typically do traditionally. They’re basically nailed to the crease. When the wheels fall off, it’s always somebody else’s fault, just like most things French. He’s simply the perfect candidate.”

The Advocate reached out to Mr Watson for comment, but have yet to receive a reply.
