A DAZZLING array of skills. A stunning vocabulary of curse words. The shittest haircut in the world.

This is the new face of Australian Tennis

The world’s tennis media is fascinated with Nick Kyrgios and his charge into the Australian Open quarter-finals.

Nick McCarvel, writing for USA Today, said succinctly: “Australia has a new sporting super hero, and his name is Nick Kyrgios.

But Christopher Clarey, writing in the New York Times, believes Kyrgios was fortunate not to have been disqualified for swearing in the first round.

“Kyrgios is prickly and profane but also hellbent on ensuring that both he and his audience avoid boredom,” Clarey wrote.

“It can be explosive (a full-rip forehand when normal speed would suffice). It can be whimsical (a ball bounced off his forehead before a serve).

“But it is often not family fare. Kyrgios might want to also fix up his haircut. It’s obnoxious and it is really really shit.”

However Kyrgios has made a vow to keep up the tradition of shit haircuts, all the way through the quarter finals.

“What’s the problem? my hair is my business. I want to rock an extremely shit haircut and no can stop me – watch me and my shit hair conquer the world”

Australia has rallied around this young man.
