A local mum is being way too dramatic and threatening to write her son out of her will today, after the son confirmed that he would not be staying for New Year’s.

Martha Chapman, 58, claims that her ‘favourite son’, Nigel, is ‘breaking her heart’ after he told her that he actually had to head back to the city tonight because he has some plans with his friends over the New Year weekend.

“Why do you hate me??” she reportedly asked him in response.

“You can hang out with that crowd any night of the year, this is a time for family”

The Betoota Advocate understands that the matter has now become a legal one, after one witness reported Mrs Chapman threatened to contact her lawyer to change her will.

“If you leave, so help me God, you do NOT get the house after I die!!”

Nigel had spent the last week at home for Christmas, and had hoped that would be enough face-time with the family for the next 6 months or so (roughly).

However, he is stunned by the new legal threat present.

“I honestly didn’t even know there was a will”, said Nigel in a press statement. “I mean, it’s not even a good house”.

“Not as good as the houseboat the boys have booked this weekend”
