The state of Queensland has released an official statement this morning, putting its southern neighbour in its place.

After NSW finally snagged itself a series, only it’s second in 13 years, the southerners are already talking about a dynasty.

Billy Moore, the iconic and inspirational Maroons back-rower who famously chanted Queenslander all those years ago, was at Suncorp Stadium to read the statement out at a press conference this morning on behalf of the state’s constituents.

“On behalf of the great State of Queensland, I would like to say,” before he paused.

“8 in a row.”

“Never forget.”

“8 in a row.”

“That’s it, anyone got any questions? Any of you from the Tele wanna call Cattle Dog, huh? Anyone?”

“Yeah I didn’t think so,” he said before walking off down the tunnel.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk took time out of her busy schedule facilitating the destruction of the Great Barrier Reef to confirm that all that matters is that the Maroons, under the mighty Mal recorded the greatest streak this country has ever seen.

“How many times have the Blues won a series in the last 13 years? How many?”

A reporter tried to answer the question before being abruptly cut off.

“It was a rhetorical question dipshit. Twice. NSW have won two series, everyone knows that. I’m done, now let’s talk about the jobs Adani is going to create.”
