Following a successful transition into radio podcasts, The Betoota Advocate has been urged by our close friends at Fairfax and NewsCorp to join them as they scramble towards different online channels in a desperate bid to remain relevant.

It is an idea we have toyed with. With our viral coverage of this year’s 1/2 Liberal Spill being captured on the lawns of Parliament House for the enjoyment and benefit of all Australians, the possibility of expanding from print has excited both our writers and readers.

Below: The Betoota Advocate's 2015 #LibSpill I Coverage

One of the first to express interest was former-Communications Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, who even went as far as volunteering to be interviewed.

However, that was before he became Prime Minister.

In what we can only hope is direct a result of a busy new schedule, Mr Turnbull has not since gotten back to his. Maybe he hasn’t had the time… Or maybe (as we suspect) he feels as though he is now better than us.

Please help us pressure the Prime Minister into coming good on his pre-Libspill II promise of a live two-on-one video interview with Clancy Overell and Errol Parker (The Betoota Advocate’s Editors).

“Mr Turnbull, before you became Prime Minister of MY country, you promised MY favourite independent regional news provider a live interview. If you would like to continue being Prime Minister of MY country, I suggest you follow through with this promise.

The Betoota Advocate is Australia’s oldest newspaper and they deserve access to our our leaders as much as any other news corporation,”

Pending on Prime Minister Turnbull’s response, The Betoota Advocate plans to continue interviewing those people that are elected to represent the common Australian. We represent not only the farmers, townsfolk and Mithaka people of far-west Queensland, but also every common man between here and Point Piper.

The Betoota Advocate has been restricted in the past, by the powers that be in Canberra’s almighty Press Gallery. We need your help to go over their heads. Straight to your local member of Parliament… or better yet, straight to your Prime Minister.

Other political identities that have been suggested as subjects for our new online web-series are as follows. If you are represented by any of these people, we urge you to please make contact and implore them to take part in our history-making and record-breaking new panel show, Betoota In Colour.
